Local Actions. Statewide Impact.
Sustainable Southbury is a 501(c)3 nonprofit environmental conservation organization. We focus on sustainable projects that promote energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, increasing clean energy use, and clean transportation to improve the quality of our air, land, water, and natural resources. Our work involves assisting, advising, educating, and driving local action in our town, businesses and community.

Based in Southbury Connecticut
Newbury Musical Theatre Company, a not-for-profit organization, was established in 2008 with the goal of offering area talent the opportunity to hone performance skills, enjoy artistic camaraderie, and develop personal confidence while entertaining our community. Under professional direction, performers, musicians and crew members stage large scale, high-calibre musicals featuring a full orchestra. Past productions have included shows like Fiddler on The Roof, Shrek, Annie, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Legally Blonde, Mary Poppins and this year... The Sound of Music.

Hearts of Hope Foundation, Inc. - Hearts of Hope Newtown, CT, Chapter
Hearts of Hope Foundation offers hope to those experiencing grief and loss through counseling, education, and community service. Our Hearts of Hope Newtown, CT, Chapter, was formed following the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. This chapter focuses on delivering Hearts of Hope's Community Service Program, both locally and nationwide, by creating and delivering Hearts of Hope gifts to those in need. Gifts are created by painting and decorating small handmade ceramic hearts. These hearts are accompanied by personal messages of caring and compassion. The chapter hosts events throughout the year, which are family-friendly and often pet-friendly. All are welcome to attend.

Supporting the Pomperaug High School Music Program
Friends of Pomperaug Music supports the music program at Pomperaug High School in ways that Region 15 resources don't address, to keep music thriving at the school. Friends of Pomperaug Music, Inc. is a Connecticut 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1999 by Thom Thorndike, Kevin Kauffman and Tim Richards. They were concerned parents of Region 15 music students, who had the simple goal of providing opportunities for students to succeed through continuous excellence in music education.
